50 years have flown by from my days at Cleveland.  Upon graduation I attended San Fernando Valley State College (SFVSC) and earned a degree in Accounting which landed me a position at the GM plant that was in Van Nuys and has now been razed and turned into a shopping mall.  While doing graduate work at SFVSC, the U.S. Army came calling and my bride and I ended up in Germany.  After my tour we came back to the valley and my job at GM.  Then it dawned on me that I hated accounting.  This caused me to switch occupations within GM and I became an Industrial Engineer in the early 70s.  In 1978 GM offered me a promotion to relocate to the Detroit area in the city of Warren at the GM Tech Center.  By this time Sandi and I had two children, Denise and Bryan; it was a huge move to leave California.  We stayed in Michigan because I knew the fate of the Van Nuys plant before they did.  As my son reached his 8th year; I became active as a Cub Scout leader.  Now, some 30 years later; I am still very active in Scouting and have been a member of the Detroit Area Council Executive Board for over 20 years.  I took early retirement from GM at the age of 57, with 34 years of service, and promptly got into consulting within the automotive industry.  The 9/11 tragedy put an end to that second career and most of the automotive consulting contracts.

Photography has always been with me and as my wife and I have traveled the globe since 1994; I have tried my best to photograph it.  Oh yes, both children grew up and married and each had a boy and a girl; so Sandi and I are kept fairly busy with our 4 grandkids.  Both kids are professionals; Denise is in Public Relations and Bryan is an executive with OnStar which is owned by GM.

Hello to All Classmates of 1960 from Barbara,

Thank you for taking the time to find me. Can't believe our 50th is coming up. I have not kept in touch with anyone. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the reunion or the April get together. I had a career in banking. I was married in 1970 to Ronald Caliva, business owner of Aircraft Foundry in Huntington Park. We have a son and a daughter, no grandchildren, I am still hoping. We have lived in Cerritos 37 years. We joined Candlewood Country Club in 1980 and were members for 22 years. I was president of the ladies' club and on the board and played on the golf team for many years.  We enjoyed boating and camping at Lake Powell, trail bike riding in the mountains and the desert while the children were growing up For the past 11 years we have ridden motorcycles on road trips. We still golf occasionally . If anyone wants to send me an email I would love to hear from you.

Terrence Collins On June 30th 1960 (Right after graduation), I entered the U.S. Army and spent the next 20 years navigating the globe in all kinds of places to include 2 tours in Vietnam and retired as an Army Officer in 1980. After that, I pursued a career in Human Resources with Defense Contractors that allowed me to become the top Human Resources Officer with 4 different companies located in California and Oklahoma. I retired in 2005 from my position in Oklahoma and moved to South Alabama to be near my oldest son who flies Helicopters for the Coast Guard. I have two other sons. One is a Captain in the Army and Commands a Special Forces "A" Team Detachment with the 1st Special Forces Group that is based at Fort Lewis Washington. My youngest son who served 4 years in the Navy, now works for an Advertising firm here in Mobile, Alabama. My oldest son has a daughter who is 4 years old and so far that is my only grandchild. My wife, Cheryl Collins was raised in Michigan and has an undergraduate degree from Michigan State and a Graduate Degree from UC Berkeley. We met while I was serving in the Army at the Presidio of San Francisco. Although I officially retired, I dabble in part time consulting work in Human Resources and Asset Management.

Hi from Arizona!!

From graduation on, I worked in sales at Broadway Stores 3 years. During this time I attended Valley State & Pierce Colleges. Then on into veterinary for 4 years as a receptionist. During that time I met my first husband.

After marriage we moved to Cambria, CA for 3 years & started a rather large menagerie of birds, cats, dogs, a squirrel, monkey, & Cougar. 'Rhama' lasted atotal of two weeks before we decided it just wouldn't work. We didn't work either after 5 years.

I met John & we married in 1973. I went to work in Century City as a medical secretary for a neurology practice & stayed there for 30 years, while John served his apprenticeship as an embalmer. Raised a stepson along the way & have 3 grandchildren. Lived in Reseda, Agoura & Van Nuys during those years, before deciding to move to Arizona. My folks & brother had already been here for a while, & California's beauty was being clouded & my bosses were talking retirement. We arrived in the fall of 2001 & tried a few jobs before I settled in to another medical office. Then I was hired as an administrative assistant at a funeral home. Always enjoyed working, but retired in 2007 (for now). John is a phlebotomist for Lab Corp & formerly a deputy sheriff in L.A. Co. (He's reflecting in the picture behind me.) He & I found cruising to be fun & have been to the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska & just last year - 2 weeks to Hawaii. We hope to continue cruising the world as time & health allow.

I'm very sad at the passing of soooo many of our classmates, but looking forward to seeing many others at the re-union in 2010 !!!

After high school in I went to Piece College in preparation for a degree in nursing. I graduated from Pierce College in 1962. I married in 1963 and had 2 children a boy and girl. Sadly the marriage ended in divorce. I then went to work for Pacific Telephone in Van Nuys as a service representative. I met my husband and we were married in 1970. I went back to college at L.A. Valley and graduated in 1973 with a degree in nursing as an registered nurse (R.N.). I worked at Granada Hills Community Hospital (this hospital no longer exists) on the medical-surgical floor. We had two more children (sons) in 1975 and 1980. I attended CSUN in 1979-80 working on my bachelors in nursing. While raising my school age children we enrolled them in the San Fernando Christian School (name changed to California Christian School) on Parthenia Street in the Valley. I worked there as the School Nurse. In 1984-85 our first two children went off to college. In 1993 on son Timothy graduated from High School and was off to college at U.C. Irvine. It is then we decided to move to the beautiful Conejo Valley, Newbury Park, California. (Just north of the San Fernando Valley) I went to work for the Conejo Valley School district as a School Nurse and retired in 2004. We have 11 beautiful, gifted, intelligent grandchildren; 7 boys and 4 girls. (Well, aren’t they all the best when they are your grandchildren? Ha Ha)

I’m enjoying retirement with my wonderful husband of 39 years. We are active in our church. We love to travel. His hobby is woodworking and my hobbies are gardening, and quilting,

Sondra Hughes Sandie Hughes Kretchman - I have been in Reno for the last 30 years, my family(husband and 3 children) moved here when they were going to bus our kids to school.  Our son was going to a school south of the Long Beach Freeway, and our 7 year old daughter was going to a school downtown in Watts.  We were living in Reseda at the time, that was insane to think of my kids on a bus all day   It was the best thing we ever did, Reno has been very good for us.  My husband (46years) opened up his own business Ceramic Tile and Marble, our son works for him, our daughters are doing well also one works for Circus Circus in HR and the other works for the paper,  we have 6 Grandchildren.  I never went on to school, I raised my kids and grandkids (till they were in school).  I like to quilt, bowl, go the gym for aquasize classes, and travel, we have had some very nice trips, we even went to China last year.
